So Peter Molyneux, the main guy behind bullfrog (Theme Park, Theme Hospital) Lionhead studios (Black & white, Fable) populous and many other games is giving a talk in DIT for the Jameson Film festival :Dhttp://jdiff.ticketsolve.com/shows/23497949/events This guy has created a lot of my favorite games through the years and I'd say it'll be interesting.

€5 to see this is well worth it for anyone looking to go into the games industry.

    Also
Peter Connolly - Executive Producer from Microsoft Games Studio will be in attendance.

    So... anyone else heading...? :D

I wonder if he'll bring Mylo!!!

TBH i think he's made some great games, but i'll only go if someone can promise me he won't harp on about how great Natal is/will be and how it'll revolutionize the market.

    Ehem...
Molyneux will discuss RPGs and their inherently cinematic nature. This will be followed by a panel discussion addressing RPG game development within the Irish gaming industry and will be chaired by Aphra Kerr.

:p Doesn't sound like natal talk to me ;)

Might go if there are tickets available. Is it safe to buy from ticketsolve.com? I don't like inputting credit card details on unfamiliar sites.

How do you receive tickets and, if it's by standard post, how long does it take for delivery?

Milo is ultra-creepy, but I'd be interested to hear the man speak.

I'd love to go, think I'm busy on Thursday night though :( Say what you will about his games, but the man is one of the closest things to a developer with a unique personality and vision. Of course he can go over the top, but there are generally good ideas buried in the hyperbole.

All the tickets were sold out before I could get any but thanks for the stream will be watching it with my son as Peter Molyneux is pretty much his childhood hero, (I know could be worse could be a soccer player :D )

Was there for it all and it was pretty good..... or so i thought. I have it on good authority that he actually brought a live demo of natal and milo to a talk in trinity today and picked some random from the audience to try it.

Great evening, great speaker, if not a little pushy on natal. I was happy to hear that it would be optional.

Only downside was the tosser sitting to his right during the panel discussion who as an admitted 'non-gamer', had no worthwhile input, wasted a cumulative ten minutes speaking, and had no clue of the significance of the people he was sitting beside.

    Also crackdown 2 looks awesome

Quite the opposite, I think the other speakers were quite ignorant of the purpose of the event and didn't quite grasp the nature of the discussion, which was cinema meeting games. Remember, as much as this was a DIT games event, it was being run under the Jameson Dublin International Film Festival banner.

Molyneux is always interesting but his speech was more laden with Microsoft PR stuff then genuine quips. His devotion of Natal is a little infuriating because you know damn well he'll drop it 6 months after Natal is released and not utilised effectively by third parties (like eyetoy).

Conolly had good things to say but his jetlag hurt that. I also would have liked to see him expand on the "Crackdown 2: A northsiders perspective" title, just because it's funny :D

Having someone from Havok was just a way to get them on board with the group and have a few things to say. No mention of their work with film companies with their engines, unfortunately.

He was on a recent episode of 4 Guys 1UP if you'd like to hear (a little) more from him.

True, sorry if it came off a little harsh - even resituating it, the guy had very little to say, and it seemed like a wasted opportunity. Ideally, Aphra should have participated, imo. The emotionless comment hurt (as FFVII memories cut in :) )
