So yesterday after I turned my iphone on most of my apps wouldn't start up. I read elsewhere online that it could have been an app downloaded with cydia, so i deleted all the apps I had downloaded from cydia.
Now When I put the iphone into itunes none of my music or videos are there on the iphone anymore and its asking me to restore. The things been a nightmare since I got it and the fact that the syncing has to be done and can only be done on itunes is frustrating. I;ve downloaded a few other programmes that will supoposedly allow me to view files on my iphone but they havn't been working either. Rant over!

So has anyone had this problem before with apps not opening and what an be done about it?

Can anyone tell me a guarenteed programme to view the files on my iphone? I've tried diskaid and imTooIphone and nothing, the files cannot be viewed.

You'll have to do the restore and rejailbreak it again. and see how it goes.

Theres a program named "iphone pc suite" which gives complete access you can add and remove apps, ringtones, pics, songs, backup your calender phone book and pics and even has a built in cydia browser so you can browse cydia from your pc and do all the installing and uninstalling from your pc. The program not english by default but you can change it to english just google it.

Done the restore but in the process upgraded to the latest firmware and now stuck with a phone that can't be unlocked. Cheers for the reply though.

Which model is your iphone ?

I upgraded my 2G to the latest firmware a few days back but still managed to jailbreak it using redsn0w.
Something to do with the baseband on the older models of iphone.

I think this is the link I used.. Clickeh there's a download link around half way down the page.

    Then download iPhone1,1_3.1.2_7D11_Restore, from Here

What I did was, downloaded the iphone firmware to my desktop, and then launched redsn0w, and when it asked for firmware I pointed it to the downloaded firmware file on my desktop and followed the instructions from there.

It worked on my 2g but I'm not sure if the 3G models are unlockable yet ... good luck mate.

I have to add... it was sooo bloody frustrating the way the firmware locked up the phone on me but I was just lucky that the phone was an old one

Tried this, thought I was getting somewhere but the part where your supposed restore from the .ipsw it just causes the phone to remain stuck in restore mode. Cheers though.
