Shane Jennings will captain the European champions and forms a strong backrow that includes Kevin McLaughlin and Sean O'Brien.

Devin Toner lines up at lock alongside Malcolm O'Kelly, who will make his 177th Leinster appearance, while Bernard Jackman is named at hooker with Stan Wright and CJ van der Linde both named at prop.

In the backs Eoin Reddan partners Jonathan Sexton at halfback while Shane Horgan (175) and fullback Girvan Dempsey (167) add to their considerable caps tally. Leinster player of the month for December and January Isa Nacewa completes the back three with Shaun Berne to partner Fergus McFadden at centre.

Cheika’s replacements bench will be confirmed closer to kick-off.

    Leinster team (v Scarlets):

    15 Girvan Dempsey
    14 Shane Horgan
    13 Fergus McFadden
    12 Shaun Berne
    11 Isa Nacewa
    10 Jonathan Sexton
    9 Eoin Reddan
    1 Stan Wright
    2 Bernard Jackman
    3 CJ van der Linde
    4 Devin Toner
    5 Malcolm O'Kelly
    6 Kevin McLaughlin
    7 Shane Jennings (capt)
    8 Sean O'Brien

Replacements from: John Fogarty, Richardt Strauss, Mike Ross, Trevor Hogan, Stephen Keogh, Simon Keogh, Paul O'Donohoe, Eoin O'Malley, Andrew Conway

I think Sexton starting could indicate some gametime ahead of starting against England

Could Dempsey's performance see him into the squad?

Good to see Conway in the squad after his performances for the under 20's.
Did David kearney get injured against exeter? would have thought he would have been included in the squad.Dissapointing to see Ross warming the bench yet again.

Will it be Strauss's debut if he comes on?

    Bench has been finalised:

    16: Richardt Strauss
    17: Mike Ross
    18: Trevor Hogan
    19: Stephen Keogh
    20: Paul O'Donohoe
    21: Eoin O'Malley
    22: Andrew Conway

    They obviously really rate Conway.

I'd like to see 17 and 19 at Munster next season. Actually we'll take that Conway chap as well. You can have Jones back, we broke him.

    Hi,

I ordered tickets for this match on ticketmaster yesterday. All I have is an order number and a sheet saying my order is complete. Is there booths outside the RDS where I can just hand this sheet with the order number in to get the tickets or will I have to ring ticketmaster tomorrow morning to get them to email me the tickets. I was meant to be sent a link to my mail as the delivery was meant to be by TicketFast.

Sorry about posting this here, but one of you might know if there is booths outside the ground where they might accept this order statement and number for the tickets..

    Thanks,

    NP

Looking forward to it tomorrow. Havent been to a leinster game since brive. Serious withdrawal symptoms. Pretty good team for leinster, given that thay are missing healy, cullen, heaslip, drico, darcy, fitz and kearney.

Shows how strong the province is becoming.

There is a booth but if you log onto your ticketmaster account you should be able to print off your tickets.

Isnt the sheet your ticket? Has it got a bar code on it?

    Thanks DantheFan,

My ticketmaster account seems to be unavailable at the moment. I never got an email off ticketmaster which I was meant to. I am a bit worried about heading to the match with just a sheet of paper with an order number, but if this is fine then there shouldn't be a problem.

I have logged in and its saying there is no orders in my recent history. My delivery method was TicketFast so I should have got the tickets emailed to me. I will just wait until the morning to ring ticketmaster as I don't think there is a 24 hour customer service number. Not sure this 'Your Order is Complete' with the order number is enough to get the tickets in the booth..

Hope you make it dude. I'll be the one legging it with 30 seconds to half time to get to the jacks before the half time rush from block m in the grandstand.

A bp win would put leinster top, at least for a day. With that home game coming up against severely weakened glasgow, this is a great opportinity for the boys to take charge of this league

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,186 ✭✭✭✭Sangre

Thats a serious pack Leinster have for a 6N break game.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,207 ✭✭✭durkadurka

Not too bad at half back either.
Or on the wing! i wonder if this is a chance for girve to get one last run in ireland shirt? Between him, murphy who has hardly played, and earls for fb slot.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 7,352 ✭✭✭funky penguin

Honestly.....I hope Deccie puts earls at FB and if he brings in one of teh "Veterans", its Horgan.

It will nicely structure the backline, and it also gives the place to the player who deserves it most.

Well, I suppose that could change after tonight.....

Good point, shaggy does well against england too.

he'd be on the wrong wing though, unless you dropped bowe.

Then youd be bringing trimble back....

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 7,352 ✭✭✭funky penguin

I meant as the number 22. Keep trimble at 11, bowe at 14 earls at 15.

Thats earls and bowe to cover full back, trimble, bowe shaggy to cover wing, shaggy, earls bowe et al to cover centre.

I mean, it was ridiculous that an injury to Kearney shifted the entire backline so much.

    Anyway, off topic.

Leinster on paper should have this no problem.

    Should....

Sean o'Brien gone off injured, himself and Donncha Ryan both likely to be out of England game. Who will take their places on bench?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,745 ✭✭✭laugh

Leinster 3 -8 Scarlets, kas off after 5 mins with bad ankle injury.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,026 ✭✭✭B0X

That was a savage try from the Scarlets
EDIT : Or poor defending from Leinster :P

Oh, great. Provincial waffle continues to reign suprreme.

Fingers crossed for Sean O'Brien. Lets hope it's not too bad. Not just for Leinster, but for Ireland.

    19 - 14 62mins, Sexton form with the boot.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,803 ✭✭✭pappyodaniel

An almost full strength Leinster are making seriously hard work of a weakened Llanelli side.

Leinster are missing Healy, Cullen, Heaslip, D'Arcy, BO'D, Fitz and Kearney...on second thought you're missing the spine of the team but still loads of talent and a wealth of experience from 1-15.

    Must do better.

It's a Magners game, Leinster are missing a lot of their heavyweights and they're playing a Scarlets team who are happy to try and be inventive (with limited success, admittedly) and they're beating them by 8 points with 5 mins to go. I'm happy enough. Could do better. But doesn't matter if they don't really.

Nacewa scored the first try, but who got that last one (stream was wonky)?

All I saw was Conway making a dash for the line, then the next thing you know Sexton's lining up the kick! :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 910 ✭✭✭Ciaran-Irl

Great stuff from Conway! 5 minutes is all he got, but blazed up the wing and gave Sexton a fantastic offload at pace. Try scored. 2 minutes later and his pace got him back for a try saving tackle. Dream first cap.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 44,080 ✭✭✭✭Micky Dolenz

Conway was very impressive, so was Sexton and Horgan.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 631 ✭✭✭Co45

Conway looked very good, the pace off him and offload for that try was unbelievable as was his backtracking for a try saving tackle.
Great games from Sexton and Horgan as well. Hopefully Horgan will get a look in for England.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 7,352 ✭✭✭funky penguin

    With every dark cloud etc.....

With Kearney and Fitz out for a while, maybe Conway could muscle his way onto the 22? Or at least get there a couple of times more this season.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,772 ✭✭✭toomevara

Good game, final result harsh on Llanelli, but nice to watch two teams who play positive, intelligent rugby.

    Not bad at 18, hey.

Thought Horgan, Sexton and McLaughlin played particularly well.

The much maligned Stephen Keogh I thought was excellent in parts as was Beirne.

I think i lipread SOB saying "I heard something snap..." to the physio. I hope it's not as bad as it looks.

Reddan's distribtion was snappy and precise too.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,207 ✭✭✭durkadurka

Girve did ok. Any news on sob? Sexton's boot was unreal. 14000 at game.reddan not great. Big mal fading...

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,044 ✭✭✭gcgirl

Thought Horgan, Sexton and Conway when he came on played really well, Horgan should be really pushing for a start V Engerland !
