Hi,does any know if I am legally entitled to my deposit back if its still under warranty? My laptop had a 3 month waranty. It broke again 2.5 months later. We gave it back in to repair shop paid 50 euro deposit as they said thats their policy.Got a phone call few days later saying laptop had a different problem than before and it would cost another 150 quid.200 in total.
We had already paid 160 3 months and decided not to spend anymore money in repairs as it wasnt worth it.
Shop said fine i can collect it but loose the 50.
    Can they do this?

It all depends what's written on the receipt they gave you for the deposit.
If you got no receipt then I'd be demanding my money back as it's up to them to make sure they have their asses covered. They may give you some grief about having to spend time fault finding to keep the €50. But then they should provide receipts stating this so as to avoid what happen to you happening again.
