I'm training for the Connemara half marathon since the new year and did my first 10 mile run on saturday. Went to the gym on monday and after 30 minutes on the treadmill I got a pain at the back of my knee that strecthes up my thigh into my butt! Have rested it since but there is no improvement really so am getting worried. My leg feels very straight.

So can anyone recommend someone to help me? I've been to a physio in Raheny Medical Clinic before with runners knee and I didn't find him very helpful.

You could Liam Hennessy a shout. He does sports massage and balance therapy and is a runner himself. He is off Collins Avenue (Ballymun end near Autobahn). He was on duty at the expo before the Dublin Marathon and also after the race. He looks after a number of Raheny Shamrock athletes and anyone I know who went has been impressed. He is also quite reasonable. His Number is 087 2195748
