The last one was a joke (8 I think), and very hard to delete fully from your computer. Firefox ftw!!

Facebook / Bebo / Twitter................seriously, get a life and stop thinking people honestly give a shìt how "unique" you are. Stop stealing quotes from philosophers on google and posting it on your page as if you're somehow of a higher intelligence than the rest of your imaginary 300 friends!!

Relentless pop-ups that cripple your system to a standstill.

Youtube player being one of the most unreliable pieces of software I've ever seen. "Oooh, I like that bit, I'll just rewind 5 seconds................why has my browser crashed............oh wow, my computer has come to a halt!!"

Stupid internet meme's, what the fùck is this shìt, MTV? If it's circulated on websites then it MUST be cool and funny, now join the bandwagon and link it to your profile / sig / photo album before it quickly dies out and is taken over by another stupid meme.

People calling other people "n00bs!!". That shìt really grinds my gears and makes me wanna knock every tooth out of the spotty anti-social kid on the other end. Ironically, these whiny pricks are probably "n00bs" when it comes to pulling wimmen!

The fact that people out there will actually follow people's pathetic video-blogs................seriously, how does somebody talking about "kooky" things get a million-plus views while actual events in the world are kept to the thousands? Madness!

Elitism, the fact that google is at our fingertips everyone is a smartass because instead of real conversation they have time to research their response to minimise the PWNS!!

    GRRRR!!!!!

    /rant

i agree with most but you can't beat a good meme and yes, by username alone you can tell ive edited just about every girl on the net....

    some dirty yokes though

I hate this new wave of text speak where they replace letters with numbers. I can't understand a word of it. (No,im not getting old). How am i meant to spy on my nephew on his bebo and facebook when i can't make head nor tail of what's being said:)

Replacing text with numbers has been around for years. It's known as 1337 (Leet or elite) sp34k (speak)

I'd post the how to fcuk with re-captcha info page from /b/ but I think I'd get banned. :D

Suffice it to say, there are ways to have fun with them.

that annoying sound which you got when you were on dial-up

Recaptcha is actually really clever and fao the OP, you're actually helping to digitise old newspapers and books that are out of copyright, so it may be annoying, but it's helping society. It is a way of getting humans to work as OCR software when computers can't do the job. Newspapers and books are scanned and any unrecognised words get shoved into the recaptcha system. There are two words in recaptcha, one regular and one scanned/unknown. If enough people think it's a specific word then it gets recorded as correct and slowly but surely old books get digitised.

No you still have to fill them in. Re-captcha is a google program that they're using to help them digitize books (which they'll then sell advertising space on, making a ****-ton of money on)
It works by giving you two words to fill in. One they know, and one which is from a book that they've not digitized. Only the one they know is used to check the veracity of the user, the other one is used to digitize books.
So the trick is to get people to put in the wrong word for the digitized word, enough times, forcing google to manually check things.

It's petty, but I get a little smile everytime I help to thwart their future global domination. ;)

The reason I won't post the info page is cause 4chan has chosen a specific racial epithet as their word of choice for substitution.

And because of people knowing that, using it on 4chan was a bad idea.

I'd be all for it if Google weren't going to be selling adspace on the digitized books.

Are the books and old newspapers going to be free or paid for?

I clicked on a site today and there was a huge banner saying "down for maintenance", but the date was 2009.

WTF? Are you out of fcuking business or down for maintenance???

Free in the same way Google gives Android to phone manufacturers for free. They have a definite vested interest in it.
