Im thinking of moving to UPC

my sky bill is around 100 euro each month, so i cant justify spending that anymore so im thinking of moving

the one thing that puts me off UPC is the awful customer care, I dont have personal experience but iv told its pretty bad

    is this true ?

No I have found it fine they are always polite.
Trying to explain something really technical is very hard.

What do you get from Sky exactly to see if the move is worth it?

I have found UPC to not be too bad once I actually get through to them, but you have to be prepared to wait, and wait, possibly get disconnected once or twice, and wait.

I have found UPC to have the worst customer service I have ever had from any company. I mean, really horrible. Every time I have asked them to do anything at all they have f*cked it up and I have had to call them multiple times, after many promises about calls back that never come - to get it sorted.

Then, today, I called about our broadband being down and, for the first time, I got polite, professional and friendly service. I just hope the broadband is back working when I get home.

Family Sports Pack 64euro includes Sky Sports and ESPN and multiroom.

Satanta cost 15 euro on top of that so 79 euro.

Apart from the Sports channels in the pack here are the regular channels you get.

Edit that pack includes Digital plus or Digital Plus HD for no extra charge.

Fibre Ultimate might be worth a look if its available in your area.
€95 a month get you everything below for another €10 you can add movies. An extra SD box is a fiver per room.

Here are the regular channels in that pack.dtv_max_hd_t1c.png

Edit Zone Reality is gone but we now have Sky 3 Sky Arts Sky Real Lives added.

Also if you get the Movies you get Disney Cinemagic HD.

Depends on what location you are in.

Is your area Cable or MMDS and what county are you in.

If you are in an ex Chrous MMDS area the Dgital Plus boxes will not work on that system.

You could be on the MMDS (wireless) system, not a cable network area. In which case, you will be missing quite a lot of the channels listed above, and the Digital+ and Digital+HD boxes are not compatible with MMDS.

    EDIT: Beaten to it :)

    Sorry about that.:D

It might be worth given them a call the address checker on the web site is not 100% up to date.

if you are in a rural area, it is not cable tv, but probably mmds (square ariel) that you would get. MMDS does not (never will?) carry the same level of service as cable. Digital+ is only available on ex-ntl mmds not ex-chorus as the two services are incompatible.

If you have physical cable running to your home you will be able to get Digital Plus and yes it is like Sky Plus.

what do you mean by cable Ranicand ?

when i mean like sky plus i mean just having two coaxial cables from lnb to sky box

UPC run a cable network in some rural areas it is too expensive to lay cable to outlying areas and they use a wireless system MMDS.

Sky Plus has two tuners and needs two cables to power the two LNBs on the dish arm.

Digital Plus also has two tuners but only requires one cable.

MMDS places an antenna on your roof a square wire looking thing

If you are in a cable area your fine for Digital Plus.

UPC took over two companies NTL and chrous if you are in an NTL MMDS area you can get Digital Plus but not in an Chrous MMDS area and the system is different.

Ring UPC and give them you address and they will tell you what your have in your area.
