Hi, handed in my notice yesterday was sad to do it but ah well am moving on to better things lol
it hasnt sunk in yet i think it will when d pack comes through the door, that will be when reality hits

Yeah I know what you mean. We've a lot of stuff to sort out tho, so I suspect we'll be quite busy over the next month.
Cant wait to get started now, quite nervous, but a lot more excited!!

I will be there too!!!!! Am so excited and still in shock.

Have a months notice to hand in and want to get all my holidays i'm due so wont be handing in notice until start of month.

So tempting to do now - esp after a crappy day

Starting in march too, bricking myself like.

groovetothebeat, I had my medical in november, sent my vetting off shortly before that - had the call there on thursday, so it seems that it really is random how long your vetting can take.

In an absolute state of shock, had a message on the answer machine from Saturday, rang the number this number and was told I'd been accepted from the 09 campaign and was I still interested... quite nearly dropped the phone!

So so happy really nervous though...

Happy days !

Doesn't feel real at the minute but once the starter pack gets through etc. I think it'll start to sink in... Hotel G here we come

low 600's RC - I'm thinking that the merit score means very little and it really all does come down to vetting.

Hey, have you guys all started training? Ive just bought a decent pair of running shoes and started running the other night. Didnt realise i was so unfit!! Im scared!! At the minute 5K seems like everest to me!!:eek:

I've started out fairly small - just walking/jogging a few miles every other day. The way I look at it, is you've pretty much got 5 months in garnerville to get fit and pass the PCA, so I reallly wouldn't be too worried about fitness at this point.

Although, if someone in the know could tell us at what stages of the training the PCA takes place at, that would be great

Just got the call today for March. Shocked... Due to my personal situation unable to take March intake and will have to defer for at least another month, althought the lady who called seemed unwilling to offer me a different start date. Has anyone deferred and if so did they give you a different start date?

Hi Noisyone

I got the call for March but have deferred until a later intake. As long as it is a valid reason e.g. not a summer holiday, you should be in with a shout.

Thanks jclegs. I have a couple of good reasons, moving my family from the south up and giving notice to my current employer so hopefully they will also see these as being good enough. Thanks again.

Hi, I rang exteral appointments again, I have a good chance of deferring with my reasons, did they give you a specific later date with written confirmation when you deferred and did you have to do it in writing, last thing I want to do is defer hand in my notice to work and not get in on later date.

I have been offered a place for March intake. Have asked for a deferral to June to finish my third year at uni (though I would have one after this and said that I would be willing to shelve it for the future).

Does anyone think I have more than a flying pigs chance of getting this deferral until June given the circumstances?

I dont see why not. Education is a valid reason so they probably wont have too much of an issue with it. You would be asking to skip a couple of intakes which is probably acceptable!

Did you ask about a deferral with recruitment when they rang?

Hey everyone, I got the call for March intake there on 17th February, but was having problems with my sign in so couldn't get on. Big Congrats to everyone that got the call, didn't expect it as my vetting was only sent start of December but it just shows you really can't guess how long it will take.

Slightly disappointed with my pack, thought it would have had more info, roll on induction day!!

I got the deferral and I am absolutely delighted. Now the waiting game continues .

I did ask about deferal when I first got the call and the caller from Recruitment didn't seem that hot on the idea but I rang a few days later and spoke to someone who was able to advise me into the right channels which I obviously couldn't thank them enough for!

Is there anyone else reading this who has been granted a deferral until June?
