Saw this in Shaw's (Limerick) at the weekend - 13 Fusion blades for €24.99.

    dtNP8.jpg

    This seems like a decent deal (for almost a year's supply), as an 8-pack on Tesco.ie is €18.97 & a 4-pack is €9.85.

Towards the bottom of the pic it says "12 blades", but there is an extra one on the handle itself.

Bought mine from a girl in Ennis off Ebay - 8 pack including delivery for €15

    Always give Ebay a look.

Anyone know of any store in Cork area selling these? I'm on my last one at the moment!

I would advise against getting blades of eBay. They are mostly fake (even with reputable seller rankings)

See http://fakeblades.wordpress.com/ for some information. I only noticed when I tried them side by side - the fake ones also wear out much more quickly.

Most I have seen on Ebay are dudleys and only rip the face off you, same with what they sell at markets. Very hard to tell the difference from the packaging but one shave and you know they are rubbish.

Just to give you all a little tip I picked up somewhere on boards.ie.

When I get a new blade, once used I rinse it off, pat it dry on a towel (though don't rub it against the towel on blade side, just tap lightly), and then immerse it in a glass of olive oil, just enough to cover the blade. It can be any cheap sort of olive oil. This delays the blades rusting from air exposure when it is wet after a shave (minutely, not visible to the eye but this is the reason your blade often feels blunt after 10 days of use. Keep the blade in olive oil when not in use and you'll get twice as long or longer out of it. That's what I'm finding anyway. Just make sure to rinse it well starting off each time as it can be slightly slippery on the first stroke. Now try it for a week and then come back here and click the thanks button:P

Amazon have them on sale for £19.99 - about €23.60 delivered ( if you include them in an order of over £25)

Seen them in the pharmacy up in Mayfiled the other day. Can't remember the name (maybe O'Connors?), but it's the one by Looney's chipper.
They probably had about half a dozen of them left last Tuesday.

Cheers. Just checked Dunnes in Ballyvolane and no luck. I'll try mayfield later :)

Saw them in Dunnes today for €24.89.

You could also get '12 blades + 75ml Gillette Moisturiser' for same price.

Just to refresh: Just bought a pack of 12 Gillette Fusion with moisturizer from Dunnes Stores today in North Main St Cork. There was also Mach 3 blades next to them for the same price approx 25euro. There are a few packets still there for anyone interested.

Best shave ever and an amazing bargain to boot.

One question I would have though for the experts: Do the blades stay sharp in the box over 9-12months or would I be better off storing all the blades in olive oil via the great tip mentioned earlier?

Quick question, do the Fusion Blades fit the Fusion Power handle

They stay sharp as long as they remain packaged, unused and not exposed to water as far as I know. Might nip in tomorrow and pick up those blades in North Main St. if any left!

Yup, they defo fit. The difference is that the Fusion Power has these minute rotating blades that activate if you press the button (need to put a aaa battery in the handle of a fusion power razon), supposed to be great for trimming nose-hair etc. but nothing a good scissors can't handle better. Both blades fit the other (fusion vs fusion power).

I have a power one, but I ain't got no nose trimming bit on it?

The actual blades themselves are identical, cept the power ones are black, and the normal ones are grey.

I guess I phrased that badly, there is a sixth blade on the back you can use for nose trimming? There is a bit of a comparison I found here: http://www.shavingstuff.com/archives/004831.php

Yeah all the fusion blades are interchangable, this is from the gillette website

A number of our razors are based on the multiple blade concept. Although we realize that the cartridges may be somewhat similar in appearance, the shaving systems themselves are quite different and cartridges are not interchangeable. For this reason, we make sure that our packaging clearly states the name of the razor and cartridges that are designed to fit that razor.

For your convenience, here's a compatibility list:
    • All Fusion family Razors and Cartridges are interchangeable.
    • All MACH3 family Razors and Cartridges are interchangeable.
    • All Sensor Family Razors and Cartridges are interchangeable.
    • TRACII Plus works with TracII or TracII Plus Cartridges
    • Atra Plus Razor works with Atra or Atra Plus Cartridges.
    • Contour Razor works with Contour Plus cartridges.
