PleaseRobMe website reveals dangers of social networks

A website called PleaseRobMe claims to reveal the location of empty homes based on what people post online. The Dutch developers told BBC News the site was designed to prove a point about the dangers of sharing precise location information on the internet.
The site scrutinises players of online game Foursquare, which is based on a person's location in the real world.
PleaseRobMe extracts information from players who have chosen to post their whereabouts automatically onto Twitter.

A warning to all not to be too free with giving out personal information.

A great site for freestuff. :pac:

    Excellent.

Post online that you're leaving your jewelery and cash in the house and going on holiday but really leave your gaff full of hungry pit-bulls and a welcoming party with baseball bats.

    Result.

Interesting. 4square is on its way to becoming very popular but this could give people a reason to be worried about sharing their location every 10 minutes.
