    Not really too sure where to ask this question.

    Is it legal for a union/association to make it a requirement of membership that you subscribe to their secondary services.

    Specifically, a club I'm involved with is associated with a national representative body. The representative body now requires all members to take out insurance directly with them. It's not a requirement to have insurance, it's a requirement that the insurance must be with them. Is this legal?
