We were fecked over by ringers intentionally breaking the oblique posting method that had organically grown from previous threats?

why would we want to intentionally break whatever posting method you are talking about and get the thread banned? do you think that the people who went to the effort of paying for the subscription and posting up tips that they payed for wanted to get the thread closed? the same people who regardless of threats at an earlier point continued to post the tips in a different way to before ( see the copy and pasting debacle of a few months ago) for the benifit of other boards members. so i dont really see your point that us ringers that were posting up tips fecked you over. the racingpost website has got rid of the most backed list so without us posting the tips no one would have them.

I'm pointing and not pointing the finger just to see what/who will tee off.

I'm a good old fashioned conspiracy theorist.

If we werent in constant, flagrent violation of some body's copyright then wouldnt a smart answer be to find some sharacters that would be.

Get them to post inappropriately for a few days, then make the threats and demand action.

    Just a hypothesis.

No names. Yet. No direct accusations.

Just observations having read over the last few pages of posts..

I regret the loss of a very useful - and in my experience - entirely accurate account of a tipping service (mainly by Pointbreak though the contributions came from a variety of thoughtful others).

It's a consumer issue as much as anything else.

After all any tipster can claim to be a legend if there's no accounting for them.
Thats why regulars, who post on these boards, like pyro and semi-pro are brave fellas; their records are a matter of public record.

It should be noted that Pointbreak is still keeping stats and no doubt he can post them from time to time just to let us know how things are.

As for enemy agents (ie RP hacks signing up), I don't buy it myself. Are we that important? Was someone that bored?

Right Mike, you're here alot so you've seen it all but...

That BS flurry over Pointbreak's figures?

Which were clearly okay as we were all there with the fella - he even posted advised and sp outcomes.

Who were the dudes that initiated that?
The classic line being of course, 'Ive been watching this thread for a long time'.
And getting very worked up all on my own in my little room just waiting, holding back like for the day when I could pile on and get over my point about keeping track of PW, a point so long harboured yet curiously so ill thought out that it falls instantly apart on examination.

    Nope. Not buying.

Besides, where are we having to hold this exchange?
    Eh? Eh?

Judging by the amount of people viewing the pages on saturdays and sundays alone id say we are! The RP boys probably didnt really care in the start but then as their results got more pathetic i presume people stopped paying for the service so the will try anything to get people paying for it again, there must be very few subscribers left now..

If by any chance tom segal (the only one of them who is worth following)is reading this i urge you to go out on you're own with a new tipping service and i for one will gladly pay you for it!

*Also just to note the tips can still be got without paying for them, it is impossible to control what is sent over the internet, but they have suceeded in stopping the large volumes of people viewing them on boards.

that bloke whose posts got the thread shut did seem a bit annoyed with pointbreak i must admit. i swear he would have headbutted him if he wasn't in cyberspace. and what was that hacking for passwords and emails all about?

you know i hate to ask but has anyone got any betting advice for todays live tv races, maybe dinolo or someone like that ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 51 ✭✭slothrop

Yep. Even if the fella wasnt a RP employee he certainly had psychological commitment enough to feck with the thread.

Who knows maybe he longs for the love of segal in some sick unrequitted way.

From my perspective the ironic ting is that i never even followed, let alone backed them, when they were free anyway.
I liked them more when they were 'borrowed' and most importantly - monitored.

I did system type things with RP ratings and so whilst I miss the information I only really needed the weekender.

we project our own fantasies about being pro gamblers onto others and invest their tips with magical properties that don't neccessarily stand up. I only do that now with herr segal but it amounts to the same thing. what i'm learning is that i can do form study myself just as well as literally most people. you've got to get more solid in your head and stop being too impressionable. you can see it happening a little bit sometimes on other threads. you'd be surprised what can happen if you trust and develop your own judgement imo.
