It is awesome fun. You can pull off some fun long distance kills with it. And it drives people mad. Especially if you're top of the scoreboard :P

I presume you have danger close on too? I prefer one man army with mine instead of scavenger though.

love it meself especially the long range kills and plus it winds up the americans:D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 34,720 ✭✭✭✭Penn

I love it. About 2 nights ago on Derail, I fired one from outside, through the first floor window of the building in the middle of the map and got a headshot with it. I'd say the other guy was seriously p*ssed :D

But really, there's nothing better than knowing some guys are in a building, slowly raising the gun trying to calculate the distance, firing, and getting 2/3 kills. Sure, some people just fire blindly and hope for the best. But when used skillfully its a great asset

    They are brillant :pac:

Absolutely nothing better then firing it into a room and taking out a few guys with Danger Close on and OMA, spam noobtubes FTW.

I have it on one of my Custom Classes. It's handy to have if you run up against a bunch of campers. I actually really need to use it more. Games like Afghan where people try to all group together and defend an area like the PoppyFields etc. A OMA/DangerClose/Claymore/NoobTube combo would be sweet.

Have a custom class with an ACR w/Noob Tube and a Thumper, together with Scavenger Pro and Danger Close Pro. Makes for some serious lulz if you feel like pissing off the opposition.

Noob Tube + Headquarters = Multikill Frenzy. Also I put Mayrterdom on as killstreak.

just have to ask why is noobtubing classed as a cheap kill. I find them very difficult to pull off but so rewarding.

I have no idea. Like I said, pulling off some difficult longshots takes a fair amount of skill. I don't see much of a difference in that and just lobbing a grenade at them

It's just people whining about getting killed without a "fair" chance to kill you first. If you know someone is sitting in a room, and kill them with a noobtube, fair play. If you have worked out the exact angles to fire a noobtube so you'll land it at a particular flag and take out multiple people, good on you.

Basically ignore the bitchers and use anything that is legit in the game and helps you kill people before they can kill you. :)

+1. The bitchers are usually the guys sitting in the corner of a room desparately trying to camp their way to a killstreak. NoobTube, Danger close, Scavenger = pwnage.

I am a noobtuber and proud of it.

My favorite was on quarry i got the final kill. Team death match there was 3 of them together (where you come up the ramp and all the barrels are usually there). I had just jump down the hole in the wall at the other end and took aim and launched it. You should have heard them, Cursing me and so on. I am extremely good/Flukey/ lucky on the long shots with the noobtube.

Sorry about this but...what the hell is noobtube?
Im level 44(and shiiiite) and havent got a scooby doo what you are all talking about!
    Please explain....

It's cheap because you can, for all intents and purposes, miss your target and still kill them e.g. by hitting a wall behind them. There's a huge margin for error that still has the pay off of an insta-kill.

I love the Grenade Launcher....... on the right map. For me it really comes into its own on Favela. There are so many buildings with open windows which beg for a grenade to be lobbed in.

Yeah, I only found out the Noobtube name a few weeks ago myself. I even unlocked a title called Noob Tuber

If you are a decent shot anyway then hitting grenades through tiny holes across the map isn't actually that hard. Combined with Danger close the blast radius and damage become ridiculous. Seriously, it both doubles the radius and damage of a explosion. I use it but I have more fun not using it. Rarely get killed with one now days anyway, I think people have caught on to the fact that the reload time means its very difficult to pick up decent kill streak runs without dieing after one or two nade's.

And for anybody who wants to post up that vid with the Texan demonstrating how to noob tube, go ahead. I've slaughtered enough people over the last two months who have tried to copy him and had I been playing against him I would have slaughtered him as well.

Point it in the general direction and your sure to put someone down. Want to put into a window , judge the distance put it a little above or what ever the case maybe .
In fairness theres nothing hard about it , just a little fun , especially knowing that the opposition are cursing you. :D

i ONLY roll with a pro pipe and silencer on an ACR . i got a lovely headshot with a grenade on someone from accross the map yesterday while they were running away from me. :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,321 ✭✭✭Jackobyte

When used correctly, it is fantastic.
Then there are people who move around with the grenade constantly attached and will fire it regardless of distance to target, will get 2 kills, be out of grenades, die and start again. This is noob tubing.
Then there are those of us who use it properly. how many of example a can fire a grenade launcher and thumper into the far bunker from the cliff in afghan or into the apartment at the top of the long street from the other end in invasion in their first attempt. That is proper grenade launching, not noobness

    I have on class with
    scar + m203
    thumper
    frag
    flash
    scavenger pro
    danger close pro
    commando pro

it is deadly. I love it when in wasteland the other team try hold the underground room. 2 well placed shots will clear them all in seconds :p

Careful now, once you try it you'll never be able to switch back.

    It's a wonderful anti-camper tool.

Fire a few into the bunkers in afghan and you're assured a few kills.

Doesn't 1 Man Army get rid of your secondary weapon which would be the thumper?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,265 ✭✭✭Seifer

But you get infinite ammo so don't need a secondary weapon.

Was playing against 2 pricks the other day, they had "Riot" as their Clan name...Anyways it was a free for all and they were running around holding hands with their riot shields on...I must of got 10 double kills alone killing them with my noobstube...I just love pissing people off with it that annoy me...Danger Close makes it even more fun...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,584 ✭✭✭✭Liam O

Noobtubers make the game unplayable if there are 3 or 4 people on a team using it. I wouldn't mind the odd person using it but if you go around a corner and see someone with one, you can't really do much to avoid it.

I was playing Dom earlier and there were two guys on the other team who would just camp the objectives with them and they would up with very high scores.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 370 ✭✭craze7

I hate them too and never used them untill one day i got pissed off and did the one man army thing, not as easy to kill with as you'd think!

Tried danger close for 2 games, found myself concentrating too much on noob toobin that I got killed, a lot! Still think the grenade launcher is the best addition to the assault rifle but think ill stick to another perk myself

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4 lemmingisgay

why would you use danger close as your secondery !! use the best one stopping power ! and there called NOOBtubes for a reason ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 784 ✭✭✭thecornflake

noobtubes should take up perk 1 also like in mod 1 , the problem is they are powerful but not much of a drawback to them.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,321 ✭✭✭Jackobyte

I think the grenade launcher should be there instead of equipment. The drawback of the launcher is the loss of a sight. I don't think they should be interchangeable with rds, acogs, etc. They are explosive so they should be classed with other explosives. It would make more sense and would allow players use one while keeping a sight without blinging it.

my opinion....why take away 1 claymore but not 1 noobtube? bloody joke

In CoD4 you could carry two claymores; they reduced it to one in MW2.
He's asking why they didn't do the same with the noobtube. Which is a valid point.

I never noticed you could do that in mw1 so I didn't understand what he was saying.

Instead of removing a noobtube, i'd rather see them allow up you to carry 2 claymores. Would be handy.

You can never have two claymores in your possession but can deploy up to two using oma or scavenger. Of course this is common knowledge but if you're stating the obvious; may as well do it correctly ;)

I tried this tonight. I placed one beside my other claymore and it disappeared.

Note: I did not have another claymore on the map at the time.
