Ebay item not received :(

    I purchased on item on the 26-01 via paypal worth £80.
    On the 11-02 i contacted the seller as i had not recieved the items.
    He replied stating that the package was posted on the 27-01 and provided me with a Royal Mail Tracking number.

    I promptly checked the reference number online, it said:
    " Your item, posted on 27/01/10 with reference RJ403078889GB was delivered in EIRE on 02/02/10, Thank you for using this service"

    I informed the seller of this to which he responded:
    "Can you not ask Royal mail for a signiture as it says delievered? Where did they deliver it then? Can you confirm your address please?"

    I sent him my address and asked him to contact royal mail. He replied on the 12-02:"Yes address details are correct let me contact royal mail and get back to you"

    I heard nothing further from him.

    Today i went to my local An Post sorting office to ask about my package. Although they could not tell me to whom or where it was delivered they could tell me that it was delivered on a route that does not serve my estate therefore i could never have received it!

    I informed the seller of this today, he replied: "As far as royal mail are concerned they delivered to your address. If you want to claim off royal mail then the reference number is:- xxxxxxxxx. If you dont get any joy let me know and I will do the claim for you but if they have a signiture then you cant claim"

    So now i dont know where to go from here, do i have to make the claim from royal mail myself? How do i do this without postage info?
    This is really upsetting me as i have never had a problem using ebay before.
    Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    The sender has to make the claim. ask for an M58 form.

    You should start a Paypal dispute for not received. Royal Mail insurance will only cover up to £39 unless the sender paid for more cover. A dispute is the best starting point.

    Might be worth your while phoning the Galway Mail centre. Maybe they tried to deliver it and no one was there.
