hi there looking for some info regards my payment to my dentist for work i got done
the receptionist told me that my stamps would not cover me,i am in full time employment
i went for a check up on the 02-12-09 and was told i needed 3 fillings so i said id get them done but not all at once
02-12-09 i got one filling they charged me 55euros
16-12-09 i got one more filling another 55 euros
20-01-10 i got one filling and a scale and polish 105 euros
i have receipts for all above work
im not really sure what i am entitled to but i read on the welfare sight that if work started in 2009 and ran into 2010 you would be covered but my stamp covered nothing
can anybody tell me am i entitled to anything or point me in the right direction

It's not really a taxation issue, you'd be better posting to the State Benefits Thread.

Also, check out www.welfare.ie Re: contributions needed for qualification.:pac:

looks to me like you got a free check up anyway.
the prsi covered people who have been working for a certain number of years and are over 25. but that scheme has more or less stopped now, all you could get now is one free check up a year.
the prsi paid a certain amount direct to the dentist after they submitted the claim. the prsi patient price + welfare amount = private price.
you can't claim anything back for routine work like fillings or s&p, but if you did need more complex work done, then you can claim 20% back on the med 2 form.
