Hopefully this is the right place ...
I'm looking for a beginners dress-making class/sewing class for a 14-year-old in Dublin South City or Dublin South West. Does anyone know of a part-time (early evenings or Saturdays) class?
I mention her age because she's not allowed to attend the local adult education evening class
    Thanks in advance

Can you not pretend she is 18?

    Otherwise

    www.sewessential.co.uk/
    www.dressmaking.co.nz/

Every so often lidl and alid do a sewing machine and accesories for half nothing.

I like your thinking :) Problem is the local class is in her school so they know exactly what her age is and not too sure we'd get away with it anywhere else ... if desperate we might consider it. Thanks for the links to the resources.

This place seems to accept all ages: http://www.graftonacademy.com/summer.htm

then this place seems to run evening classes, but I"m not sure what the deal with age is

    +1 for the grafton academy.

A couple of friends have attended and found it very good.

    Thanks again folks.

We contacted the Grafton Academy last week and while technically they don't normally take students below 15, they're willing to meet with her and see if she's able for a class. We're thinking of starting with the Saturday morning beginner's dress-making and then, if the enthusiasm is still there, a full-time summer class.

    Thanks again :)
