Can I interest anyone in a Rob for VP Comms tshirt?

I might just pay some lads a tenner to walk around in James and Rob shirts, as my USI one is a permanent fixture tomorrow.

James, the design of your shirts is great. I got a quick look at a snap of Robs today, and I must say, they're good. Nice colour, should do the job Wednesday morning.

If anyone wants a free USI shirt, get to the USI table in Arts (I'll be there for a bit tomorrow, say hello) or ask any of your resident NUIM lefties, as we're all carrying a few. About 70 given out today.

LOL, we responded at the same time. I'll take it you mean a Rob shirt, and not a USI one ;)

Welfare and Ents are gonna be close I think!

Say the rest will be a large enough majority.

Comms will be close. President will be close enough too.

Indeed. Gavin's chalk wars and banners have definitely helped him.

Cool video! Must have been loads of fun to shoot, very well thought out, plus the inclusion of Barbers Ave Maria would have won my vote if I was in NUIM this year.

I have to agree...the video is very good! He'll definitely get my second preference!

Gav really tightened the race in the last few days, banners are a great idea. Still, I've good faith the Aengus lad will make it.

If this was a Paddy Power, I wouldn't touch Welfare. Anyones game. It will be all about the transfers.

Comms? I think Robs looking good for the money there to be honest. I don't expect it to be anywhere near as close as Ents/Welfare.

U.S.I wise, I'm more worried about turnout than a No vote.

Just saw yisser post now Donal. Agree on Welfare about the transfers. If we presume Mark's go mainly to Liz, and Mary's to Lydia*, it could go very badly for James... :(

I'm more worried about the No vote than turnout for USI. 15% is only 600 votes after all... and it only needs a simple majority (50% + 1) as far as I know to pass. So you need to have convinced 301 people to vote for it. Sure there were probably that many yes t-shirts floating about! However, as I said on the other thread - we tend to be an cantankerous bunch and the lack of a real, non-smeary No campaign which you could interact with may have convinced people to vote no for it, simply because the whole thing seems one-sided/they think it'll pass anyway/they can't bear to part with €5.

*Likely division of transfers based on gut feeling.

There was a great buzz around campus today, the campaigning brought a nice atmosphere to the place, although I tended to lean more towards people who were steadily campaigning rather than some who I'd only just seen running around the place today.
Have to say too, Rob sounds like he'd be great for the comms position & seems like the one who has the most experience in general of all the candidates. I'd actually love to see a proper SU website.
Best of luck to everyone anyway. :)
