Jaysus, thats a blast from the past. I fought a lad from Ming Chuan in my first full contact fight in 1983. In fact if I'm not mistaken the bold Bridgestone Man fought on the same bill in Inchicore:)

There is one in Lusk and an offshoot somewhere else but not sure where.
I've pm'd you the number of Kieth, instructor, who'll be able to help you.

    Hi Wormking2002,

Just registered to answer your question - I have been training in MingChuan in Lusk, North County Dublin for about 9 months under Master John Fanning and Instructor Brendan Clare - Yes it can be pretty hardcore training but it is excellent for conditioning and encompasses many different techniques - Kickboxing / Bando / Iron Fist / Iron Shirt / Iron Head etc. - We do break concrete blocks as part of our training and in order to reach the next grading level - It doesn't have any sporting uses but I have tried different martial arts (TKD / Krav Maga) and I personlly don't think there is anything like this...I called Brendan and he said he would be happy to have a chat with you - Mobile : 086 1679009

Come along and try it out - Hopefully it works out.

    G.

    Thanks gcmingchuan.
Lusk is too far away for me as i'm in beaumont but I got in contact with a dude who does it in drumcondra on monday nights. This is a bit easier for me to get too...Gonna give it a bash there and hopefully all goes well...

yes I know corkma, but you have probably seen the amount of people who don't realise the hard work that goes into MA and run away screaming when they see the training for the first time!!

Hi guys, I know its a bit off the point, but i started a thread on hand conditioning with the hope that people would discuss training methods. all the feed back was from people who don't like board breaking and aren't into conditioning. I'd be interested in getting ming chuan opinions

hi there.. ill be happy to answer any questions you have on conditioning! im not willing to share too much publicly as some people have the "monkey see monkey do" syndrome! but my classes are open to everyone who is willing to try! in a quick answer i cant recommend conditioning enough! there are very few side effects and contrary to belief it does not lead to arthritis! Yes your hands do change shape slightly but they do not become deformed!
feel free to ask more question...
    Sifu Keith.
