Vehicle tax

    Hi there,

    I'm picking up a used motorbike from a main dealer soon and have a question about tax. I will be signing all final documents today but the bike is not taxed and I will not be able to tax it until I receive the necessary log book/vehice owership documents in the post.

    Will a change of ownership document backed up with verifiable receipts etc. allow me to drive the vehicle until I can tax the motorbike?

    As they say the bike drivers just as good without tax.

    Simply, you have no tax and there is no fabeled exemption of 15 or 28 days etc to get tax. So in essence you could get a tickte.

    However.....as you have said if you carry your documents to show you just bought the bike I cant see you having any trouble with a Garda.
