Is it just me but has the quality and quantity of games dropped while the price of games soared? It seems 1200MPs is the new standard price, yeah that makes sense in this economic climate, and while previously there would be at least two games a week it's down to one. Also we just seem to get generic puzzles games and shovelware. I honestly can't remember the last time I downloaded an XBLA game. The only game I'm considering getting is Vandal heats but 1200 points for a dlc seems a bit much.

Well at lest Perfect Dark is out in 2-3 weeks at 800mps which is a bargin. We had a good run up to the end of last year. Trials HD, Splosion Man, Monkey Island. It is called Arcade so yeah we are going to get a ton of 80's/90's puzzle games. Hardly expect an Arcade AAA title every week now. Live Arcade afterall is just an afterthough on the Live service by Microsoft which will be expanding big time in March and will resemble PS Home in some areas.

I'm still buying some of the games. I liked Death by Cube a few weeks ago (despite the mixed reviews), and I got Chime last week which is a really nice game.

Today the Misadventures of PB Winterbottom is out, and it looks to give Braid a run for its money in puzzle platformers. Worth checking out the demo anyway. Reviews are positive too....

Sure get BF1943 its on special this week. and TBH who really cares whats on XBLA pay 1200 points for a game that you can get for free with emulation.
And perfect dark for 800 points thats 8 yoyos, you can pick it up for 5 yoyo 2nd hand in most game shops. Ive also seen games in shops for like a fiver that they are trying to sell on XBL for 30 quid.
Shop around lads dont just buy online cause its convienent, espically in this financal climate.

You might be able to get the N64 Perfect Dark for a fiver but the one out on March 17th is locked at 60fps and has the blury muddy textures replaced with sharper higher res ones plus 8 player online play along with all the old modes. Can't go wrong really. I went back to Golden Eye over the new year and I wish I didn't, its awful now, I ruined my memories of it. Just shop around for the cheap XBL points online and don't pay the going rate for them.

Goldeneye and Perfect Dark have aged terribly. Amazing in their day but now they are awful to play.

Will probably pick up Chime. Going to get Multiwinia (although the single player 'campaign' seems a bit.....crap) - skirmish mode is fun.

As said, we went through a good patch. Always going to be cycles...Plus there are plenty that people would have missed that are great. I got 'Death Tank' along with 17 other players in the world. Great fun and works in local multiplayer (seemingly quite easy to learn)

    🤪

Looking forward to Summer of Arcade again.
I would absolutely love if they announced Geometry Wars 3....

Sorry to disappoint you captain but
Looks like Perfect dark is gonna be 1200 points now.:mad::mad:
Was thinking of getting it for 800 points but now not sure.

Really? I'll pass then until they have it on a Gold member special. Its not worth 1200 for a 10 year old game. I'm this now but I'll see how the free trail goes.

Toy Soldiers looks like fun, I'm hoping it will be decent because the gameplay vids look good to me.

I was gonna post a new thread but since people here seem to download game off xbla il post here.
I recently got an arcade stick and went back to play Streets of Rage which I downloaded a while ago, when I go into it I can only play the trial version? even tho it shows how many achievements I have unlocked in the game since purchasing it and now it has basically been deleted from me.. I noticed this before as I was 80% sure I had downloaded Street Fighter and the same thing happened with just being able to play the trial game I gave em the benefit of the doubt as I wasnt 100% sure I had got it as it was so long ago.
    Has anyone else noticed this?

Have you changed consoles since you downloaded it? Check if it's only the trial version when you're not signed into Live but the full version when you are signed into Live. If yes is the answer to both of the above then it's possible to assign the downloads to your most recent machine via the internet, but M.S. only allow you to do it once a year.

If it's a case of the game not being available even when logged into Live then download it again via download history.

Yeah like most 3-D games of the PS1/N64 and Saturn era.( Zelda OOT,Majoras mask,Lylat wars,Doom and V.F. 2 being the honourable exceptions.) The early 3-D games have aged terribly. Though I was never a massive fan of them to begin with.

Yes I got RROD last year but kept the same harddrive obv, I just checked there and it is only the trial versions when I am not signed into live.
Where exactly do I do this through xboxlive.com?

Bingo, the good stuff will be coming out again soon for things like Sumer of Arcade. i think XBLA is excellent and it provided us with some of the best games of last year, i expect the same to happen again. Chime is pretty cool alright, still need to invest in some points for that one!

They are probably holding it for PGR5 if they ever get round to making it. If PGR is not dead that is.

Picked up PB winterbottom earlier, not very far into it yet but loving the style of animation and that funky music. Only done some turorial levels so far but looks like there will be some chin scratching to come :D

Your right about the XBLA getting worse, Looks like the Midway games are beign discontinued from the Marketplace(Probably due to them winding up last year).

"Several classic Midway games have been removed from Xbox Live Arcade, including Cyberball 2072, Defender, Gauntlet, Joust, Paperboy, Robotron 2084, Rootbeer Tapper, Smash TV and Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3. The titles have been pulled due to "publisher evolving rights and permissions," according to a Major Nelson"

When there is chin scratching in the tutorial (and I have those scratch marks too), god only knows how tough it will get later on! Great game though - this is the kind of stuff I like on XBLA...
