    hi,

being from down south, i'm thinking of raiding Dublin for a day to look at ski jackets, ski boots etc.
I'd only be up for the day so if there's any chance i could get a pretty sharpish list of places to hit it would be very much appreciated.
Driving an hour outside of dublin etc isn't on...
I'm just trying to hit all the main places in 1 day if at all possible.

    thanks.

    thanks for that,,
i thought i had checked most of the links..
    obviously not the FAQ!!! (doh)
    but...
if one was to have a plan of attack, a route around dublin that would make sense time wise
i would also much appreciate that instead of hitting google maps like a lunatic..
having said that i'd be able to make a go at the list of shops in the FAQ if needs be,,

thanks for the quick response too btw...

    Here's what you could do.
Head to m50 to junction 15 carrickmines to 53 degrees north. Then to junction 13 dundrum shopping centre To snow and rock. Leave car there then jump on Luas to stephens green to great outdoors off grafton st. Then down to onboard in creation arcade again off grafton st. Than back on luas to dundrum (ballally stop) to get car.

There is a large TK Maxx in Carrickmines too - so defo have a peep in there before heading to Dundrum. There is a Trespass shop in Dun Laoghaire, which is pretty good too. Might be worth a look?

If you go to The Great Outdoors i'd have a look at Degree 7 stuff. It's reduced from about 450 to 200, and is some of the best gear you can get. Ski instructors use it apparantly!

    Ski instructors use it apparantly!

Ski Instructors wear what they are told to wear.

The reasons for a ski schools uniforms being by a particular manufacturer are generally not to do with how good a quality it is. ;)

Not an adventure shop but I always thought there was good value to be got in the Pamela Scott ski shop in South William Street, Dublin 2.

Just got myself a Mountain Hardwear jacket reduced from £150 to £89 off Costwoldoutdoor.com

Some good bargains to be had online

They will deliver here too (although I got mine delivered to UK as am over there next week).

thanks for all the input guys. appreciated.
will definitely be heading up over the coming week.

    and for the internet buyers,
i'd buy most stuff online usually but when it comes to jackets etc,
i'd really have to try em on cause there can big a big variation in
    different manufacturers sizes,
one crowds large can be anothers xl,
irregardless of what sizes they specify on their sites.

    thanks again,,
    :D

You are 1hr away from Dub, if u are near Kildare outlet centre theres a north face outlet and tog24.

NB C.mines has two , 1 min from each other TK Max and 53 north

Grafton st area, TK Max, great outdoors and Pam Scotts, downstairs in great outdoors has a discount area, might be ski gear there.

Grafton st area, Stephens Gn centre has a trespass shop, 1 min from TK Max, but a small selction

Tip : dont but tube ski socks , waste of money, buy ones shaped to your feet similar shape to regular socks, longer of course and padded at appropiate areas

Just been into Onboard's new shop in Dun Laoghaire opposite the dart station and all their ski gear is now 50% off. Picked up a jacket, pants and hat and saved 280 euros.
