Girlfriend hit a kerb in her 206, at first i thought she just burst the tyre but when i was taking it off to get a new tyre i noticed that the wheel position seems to have moved back as it is almost touching the wheel arch and it is when ya turn the wheel, also when ya go to drive it ya can feel there is something wrong, anyone any ideas what could be broke on it? Hope its not too much or it wouldnt be worth fixing?

    Thanks

I'd be guessing the wishbone is damaged....It would need to be checked out
by a mechanic to be sure....also the tracking would need to done after the repair.

    Thanks row,

Yes have to get a mechanic to look at it, but dont know if it would be fit to drive to the mechanics, is the wishbone a big job?

It does sound like the wishbone has been damaged and judging by your describtion the car is not safe to drive at the moment. It is a big enough job price wise dont have a figure but it would be worth your while to ring around to get as many quotes as possiable and choose the best.

If it was the wishbone, would it be possible to drive it 5 mins to the garage? Its still lying in the car park at the minute?

Thats a hard question to answer and i wouldnt like to give you advice that would end up with you in a crash.

Its a case of how bad the damage is. It could last you the 5mins(or last 5hours) to the garage. On the other hand it could collopse and you end sliding on the belly into the nearest car.

Edit: Thats assuming it is the wishbone that has been damaged!

Do you have a mechanic friend that would be able to have a look at it for you?

Get a mechanically minded pal to take off the wheel and
inspect the damage, it might be possible to drive the car to the
    a garage.

Got my wishbone fixed twice, once on each side. (on a 206).

First time I got it repaired along with the track rod ends, exhaust, full service on the oil plugs etc, wing mirror fixed too (had to get all done for nct) cost me 80euro for everything (not including parts, which were another 70)

last time I got it done I had to get the drive replaced as well as the wishbone and the break pads. total cost for him to fix the lot was 55euro.

I bought my wishbone for 24euro and got the mechanic to put it in the car. I'd imagine my mechanic would charge around 30euro to do it on its own.

it was another 35euro to get the wheels aligned in the tyre place after it was done.
