You can set up a company profile and link it to your own profile. I think it's done from within your profile. You can then advertise that page through facebook adds with very specific targeting.

Confirm that post from ScumLord - you don't have to advertise through facebook at all if you don't want to.

    Don't pay.
Just make sure your username is the same as your companys website.

That's not actually necessary :) - if you have an account already all you need to do is create a business page linked to it. Our facebook page is linked to my personal facebook account.

If you create a personal account as your company name etc then you won't have access to what business page admins see. Also your page will be only able to accept friends rather than have fans. It's a subtle difference but people are a lot more likely to become a fan than a friend as their personal info is not shared.

don't do it, because if i look for a product on google and i see your company selling it through facebook, i deliberately won't buy it becuase you advertised on that greatest-load-of-bollocks-on-earth site.

It pisses me off no end when companies are running offers or competitions through their Facebook page and they're too stupid to make their page fully public so non-Facebook users can read it.

    Idiots.
