    Hi
Thinking of going on holidays to Turkey in September, was looking at walking 'The Lycian Way' for a week or so
    Has anyone ever been there?

Looking for a bit more info on it e.g. access to water and food, possibility of camping along the way (doing it on a tight budget!)

    Thanks,

Haven't hiked the route, but spent a fortnight driving along the coast the year before last - visiting various ruins, doing some day treks, and some scuba diving. Did drive up into the mountains a couple of times for some short walks. It's a really beautiful area, with high mountains dropping down into the azure blue sea.

We stayed a week in both Kas and Cirali. Both lovely spots. We flew from Dublin (via Istanbul) into Dalaman and out of Antalya with Turkish Airlines.

It can get hot - not an issue up in the high mountains, but I think some of the route is quite low level, and drops close to the coast, so if doing these sections, I would suggest hiking early in the year.

    journeyman.

    Hello there,

I was looking at doing a 5/6 day leg of the Lycian Trail with my dad in the coming months. I've looked about for info, but even the official site http://www.lycianway.com/ doesn't seem to offer much in terms of a break down of the route. Have you had any luck? It looks increible I have to say.

Thanks for the replies above - sorry for the delay getting back!
Einhard if your still thinking of going - we have bought Kate Clow's book (not sure of spelling) on the lycian way and this gives loads of information so hoping that will sort us out - not much available online unfortunately!
