Last year registration opened on 4th of March and sold out that same day. I'd expect it to go on sale around the same time again this year, and probably sell out just as quickly. It's a great race series!

There'll be a joint announcement on behalf of the organising clubs on the various club websites in the next couple of weeks. Some interesting changes this year including Chip Timing !!

I did the series for the first time last year and reckon it's well worth the trip Seres.

As for entries on the night - some of the clubs do faciliatae this. I believe the Craughwell, Loughrea & Galway events did last year. I cannot remember if the others did. I don't believe Athenry did. The down side to trying to enter on the night this year will be no chip time and the big one is that there is no guarantee of a place as it's tough to know if any of the clubs will allow entry on the night.

You'll be a bit lonely on Thursday nights as the races were held on Tuesday last year. ;) I assume it will be the same again this year.

It has yet to be confirmed, but I don't think any of the races will be taking entries on the night this year.
I know Athenry won't for sure.

700 places. Might well sell out in a day - can't see it lasting the weekend.

thats a big increase of 200 from last year!
at 500 I thought capacity was stretched in places like craughwell for example.
oh well more places is a good thing i guess!

The 2 big issues last year were
    recording a finish time,
    and parking.

It is hoped to mitigate the first by having finish line [only] chip timing.
It is hoped that repeated call for people to carpool will continue to have a good effect.

    Folks,
Just to be clear, there will be absolutely no 'on the night' entries this year for any of the races. This has been agreed by all the clubs in order to minimise the number of volunteers needed to operate the series and to simplify the series. Basically, the easier it is for the clubs involved to run these races the longer we'll keep the series going, hence the investment in chip timing etc etc.

If you want to run the races, get a series entry in..

    Seriesly :-)

    It is technically sold out.
A number of people are mid-transaction. If they fail to complete, the entries are re-released.

700 entries in less than 2 hours, thats some going

Excluding the outage, how long did it take to sell out? Unreal how popular it is. Great to see such a huge interest though.

Hi Sean - 700 over 5k is a lot alright. We had two problems in craughwell last year - the start was a bit narrow and the finish was a bit crowded for a few minutes. The chip timing should alleviate the latter and we also hope to change the start to a very wide start so hopefully looking forward to a good race this year!
