    I recently started doing a bit of gym work, 10 or so sessions now. its mainly too get a bit of strenght and conditioning for hurling. i got a programme from a friend which i think is grand but i always thought my wrists were very weak. is there any or many exercise's too strenghten your wrists?

    Wrist curls and reverse wrist curls with a dumbell are pretty good.

    As far as I'm aware, the only one I've ever seen mentioned on here was to hold a heavy enough dumbell in your hand and let your arms/wrists drop lazily by your sides, then move your wrists inwards and outwards slowly.

    Google images gave me this though;

    A vertical variation of the above.

    What's the program look like overall?

    What do you mean exactly by weak wrist?

    Have long have you been strength training?

    hey,
    thanks for the replies,

    ive been doing it about 6 weeks now. i alternate between a srength session and a power session
    for the strength session i do barbell squats, dumbell press, shoulder press, lunges, bent over row, eccentric chin ups and then core work- leg throws, roman chair and med ball throws

    the powere session is alot of the above at 70% plus dumbell cleans and a couple more i cant remember the names of. its quick sharp work. finish with a super set where we alternate between shoulder press/lat pull down and leg press/wall squat wit ball
    whats ye're opinion on that??

    the problem is not that my wrists are particularly weak but i hold the hurl with my weaker left hand on top like a golfer. this doesnt work well with hurling where the correct way is with the strong hand on top.
    i just reckoned if i could strengthen my wrists (especially my weak one) i'd have more control and power with the hurl
