This is an awful feeling. I can completely sympathise.

Sorry to say it, OP, but there is really nothing you can do; if you make an issue of it, nothing good will come of it, your mates will not be too impressed.

My advice is just forget about it. Happened to me before, and I raised a bit of hell over it, and it acheived nothing. The best thing to do it just drop it and leave it.

Sorry I can't give more positive advice.

Are you sure he actually invited a bunch of other people and didn't invite you? There's been plenty of house parties at places I lived where I didn't invite people for multiple reasons - it was spur of the moment thing, it was a specific circle of people, or it was mainly my flatmates' mates and I couldn't be arsed inviting my own, among other reasons.

I must admit that when I saw the thread title I assumed that 'worst news ever' meant that you had had a bereavment or something similar.

People often forget to extend an invitation or think that they already have. It's easy to forget who you have and haven't asked.

If they're really your friend why not just ask? Why is there 'no way' you're bringing it up?

    Hey OP,

Yeah it feels awful when you find out you were left out. The best way to deal with it? With dignity and being straight forward about it would be my advice, the next time you're around them, just say "how come you didn't invite me to that party?" I'll bet a tenner it was nothing personal, more just they forgot, or didn't plan an actual party it just turned into one etc. I know the stomach feeling that goes with being left out but it's often unnecessary, if you're feeling bad say it to the person and usually they'll won't have even realised that you felt left out and will apologise when they realise they hurt you. If you don't want to address it, stop worrying about it, the stomach will settle down in a couple of days anyways. Don't let something that may have been unintentional become something so hurtful, try to let it go if you can.

    Best of luck.

Jesus, this is the "worst news ever"? what are you, 6? you didnt get invited to a party, if thats the worst news you could ever get then you have a hard life ahead dealing with real problems, maybe they just had a few random people over after a night out or it was an impromptu thing and they just didnt think to invite you, get over it
