komatsu pc130 diesel problem

    anyone any ideas on this.....2002 pc130-6 with over 11000 hours and owned from new.lately wen diesel tank goes below quater mark the digger airlocks and cuts out,bleed it up and it starts but cuts out again,have changed lift pump,twice just incase one was faulty and it made no difference,has anyone else came across this or anything like it.......thanks

    Could be the pipe going into the tank. If it was cracked or blocked.

    Have you checked the banjo bolts for a small gauze? Sometimes if they are fitted they can get blocked with shyte.

    What I would normally do it run it on a can and gradually lower the can and see if you can replicate the problem.

    I'm not familiar with the actual machine BTW, just general advice.

    ya tryed them,theirs two of them,one before the lift pump and one before inj pump,they were both clean,i also had tank off and cleaned and replaced pipe from tank to filters and onto lift pump.....

    Diesel filter housing?

    Could be drawing air there

    ya maybe its possible but wouldn ya tink it would do it all the time then and not just wen the fuel level starts to get low.......

    Well when the fuel level goes low, there is more effort needed by the lift pump as it has to lift the diesel higher.

    If it can suck air then it will be more likely to do it then.

    If the fuel filter just has a simple one pipe in, one pipe out just get a simple filter and try it then.

    i never did get to the root of the problem,shortly after that it went up on a euro auctions low loader and a dash 7 came in its place,its supposed to be in south africa now according to the euro auctions salesman......

    Banjo bolt filter ? Had a problem on a Daewoo 130. found a small filter in the banjo bolt on the side of the filter.
