Maize 2010

    So who is growing maize for 2010? What varieties and any views on plastic or non plastic? My opinion is that last year plastic defiantly paid its way after comparing crops down in west cork.

    Benicia, Justina, and Award seem to be good plastic varieties from last years trials while Kreel, Katy, PR39D60, PR39V43 and Beethoven yielded well in non plastic in trials in cork

    i for one will not be growing maize this year after last year just wonder will many more abandon it

    i had maize last year sowed in the open yeilded well but tested poor cows thought it hard to eat it. if i sow it this year it will be under plastic
