    Hello all,
First time poster. I am trying to install my recently purchased LIdl satellite dish but am confused as to how to achieve the elevational angle. I am trying to pick up the Astra 28.2 signal which as far as I know means that it should be pointing 28.2 degrees east and, I think, 21.5 degrees elevation.
The elevation bit confuses me as I don't know what I should be measuring the angle against if you know what I mean i.e. should the LNB arm be at 90 degrees (horizontal) first before I move it the 21.5 or so degrees OR should the actual dish (in its vertical position) be what I should be measuring the angle from. I hope this makes sense.
    Very confused.

The dish is offset, that is the dish lies back. Try with the arm horizontal and move up from there. Use the beeper that came with it until you find the satellite, 19.2 is easier to find than 28.2. When you have BBC1 on the screen, then set the receiver to show you quality and tweak the angle, inclination and skew of the LNB. [Twist the LNB clockwise a bit.] Adjust each for the best signal before going onto the next and then do them all again.

There is a post on here that will help you.

Just reread that post, 28.2 is what you want - the other one will give mainly German stations.

There is a website, can't think of the name, but it will give the direction using satellite imagery so you can zoom in and use local landmarks to get the direction.

    Best of luck with it.
