Will also keep an eye out. The worst thing is the little so & so that took it probably doesn't realize that the bike is a bit above the norm.
Around the city, If I spot it I'll report back (& to the Gardai).

maybe you could ask the nearby bike shops to keep an eye out or advice on where these bikes usually end up

    Sorry for your troubles.

Will keep an eye out and spread the word.

Might be worth letting Cash Converters (Pawn shop) in McCurtain St know about it Quite likely someone desperate might try to get a few quid for it there. 021 4500600 is their no.

    Thanks to all for ideas.

We immediately headed to cash converters so their aware of our dilemma, will be watching all ads locally etc for bike.

As some are aware had just purchased for my son who is was hoping to go racing competitively this year. Absolutely sick to the stomach, had put on a set of Look Keo Max 2 carbon pedals, and Friday upgraded the cassette and front ring to ensure he was legal for U16 racing.Bike had the Planet X carbon bottle holders and was absolutely immaculate.

    :(

Sorry for your trouble, little bas$%^%'s.

As a matter of interest was it locked or did they break the lock in some way? Was it locked to a pole or what? What sort of lock was it?

Hope u get it back soon,

    D

I cycle in Cork, will keep an eye out for it. Best of luck with the search.

If it wasn't locked then that broadens the net quite significantly beyond the usual scum bags. It could be any opportunist. I'd get in contact with the colleges around the city. UCC cycling club for a start. A lot of students tend to cycle and if there's one cycling your son's bike up and around the college someone from cycling club should be able to spot it quite easily.

A tip for you son - only cycle the rust bucket in to town. The bike which I use for errands etc. wouldn't get a second glance from the most eager of klepto's. My carbon racer, now there's a different story..

Good luck with the hunt. Let us all know if you find it.

I'm a UCC student, we don't have a cycling club. Will keep an eye out on campus.

Thanks to all for the wishes,

The only reason he was in town he was out for a spin with a club in town, who when finished, went for a cuppa leaving bikes outside and then some opportunistic scumbag happened along.
