I've been reading up and am totally confused at this stage as to what is the best way to upgrade from 3.0 to 3.1.2.

Iphone 3G, jb and unlocked. Firmware 04.26.08.

I don't want to end up with a brick, but would like to be able use some apps that require 3.1. I also still want to be able to actually use it as a phone on vodafone after.

My options seem to be either pwnage tool, redsnow or blacksnow or blackrain...

    Any advice?

Download the 3.1.2 FW from http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=750

    STAY AWAY FROM 3.1.3

iTunes > Shift + Restore Button > Select the 3.1.2 file you downloaded.

    Wait.....

    Done, then jailbreak :) Hurra!

    Thanks Justindublin.

Have I got this right? I restore to this fw. That'll change the baseband to 05.11.07. I then need to jailbreak again, and then unlock?

    That worked a treat. Cheers.
