Muay Thai weight categories in Ireland?

    anyone know them? just wondering if my size will limit me, Im currently 108kg, down from 131kg

    It's generally done to the nearest KG unless it's a title fight. Then normal weight categories apply (see wikipedia).

    108KG is VERY heavy for Thai. It'd be hard to find people to compete against at that weight. I'd say you'd want to get closer to 90 (below would be better) if you wanted regular fights.

    Doing Thai redefines what you consider lean though. If you're interested I'd say give it a go. See what your weight is like after a while.

    I dont think I'll be cutting to 90kg as I'm 6ft 3, 100kg maybe.

    I'll keep training anyway

    Once you go over 95kgs, you're into SuperHeavyweight division, so if you don't see yourself getting under 95kgs, then I wouldn't worry about cutting any further and in fact provided it doesn't affect your fighting ability then consider bulking up.

    nice1 thanks, ye I feel pretty light right now, was doing mainly powerlifting for the past 12months but then decided to work on overall fitness so I lost alot of size.
