my guess would be at least 2 years from now.....it's probably 6 months from completion ...but can't see anyone starting again for at least another year....most probably longer

couple of years being optomistic!!....but who knows if they had only got the 1.3 million for the footbridge so DESPERATELY required by the town then they might have been finished sooner!;)

I dunno ... Sligo has a population of 18000, and yet people demand all the facilities/amenities/infrastructure of a capital city.

It should embrace it's culture and market it as a unique location, rather than trying to "keep up with the Jone's"

It's a provincial town. 1.3 million would be better spent on saving lives on prevention healthcare stuff such as cervical cancer jabs etc....

This country is awash with great little schemes that satisfy certain groups egos and ideologies.

We can't do everything to suit everyone.

    agree
.....but just look at the sh.tstorm that developed in the council ( vis a vie alleged bullying) all because the county dictator manager didnt get his ego satisfied over this issue.
as long as people like him are allowed to continue with their schemes to pander to developers, chamber of commerce, etc what chance do ordinary folk have of shaping the town's future.

^Agreed the County Manager system ought to be abolished, it is profoundly undemocratic and unwise system where power is concentrated in the hands of an unsackable and often incompetent individual until the day they retire.
