    Hey there,
I looked at an 03 skoda today. lovely car but there is 2 or 3 small exterior scuffs.

    1. there is two identical small dents on the coloumn between the drivers door and the windscreen. Are these easy to repair, get pulled out or what ever people do to fix them.
    2. There is another small dent on the boot lid. looks like where someone reversed back into something. Its not that big - you'd be able to cover it with your hand.
    3. There is a small speck of rest about "o" that size on the rear wheel arch. Probably where a stone or some debris flew up and hit the car.

What I want to know is, Are these things that I should include in the car sale, that they be repaired - A skoda dealer should have the little bit of matching paint easily enough in stock.
I am not overly concerned about them as they are usual wear and tear for a seven yr old car. we all have a little bump every now and again. But I don't to spend money to see the dent, especially the one on the driver door everytime i am getting in!

other than those its a lovely car, not that I'd know too much about them to be honest!

    Thanks Guys

    Hi,

For a 7 year old car of thats all thats wrong I would be happy enough once the price is right, 3 small scuffs are pretty good IMO

id be the same would,nt worry about the small dents of scuff,s because if you go near a main dealer with it it just cost to much just give it a good wash and polish and just say in the ad little bit of wear and tear for 7yo car iv sold loads of cars with a few dents does,nt seem to brother them as long as the engine is good ect and also if you want a quick sale i find www.donedeal.ie is great for selling cars fast

Sorry Pat, My post mustn't be clear.
I looked at a car in a main dealer today and these were the cosmetic blemishes.
Should I ask for them to be repaired or just take the car?

oh sorry i didnt read it right. now this another story lol yes if you are buying it
off the dealer the ball is in your court say it to them and ask them can they repair it or if they cant ask for another €300 or €350 off the price but dont budge on it promise you it will work there falling over them selfs to sell cars
so point out them dents and marks...let me know how you get on.

Ok, So I have decided to buy the above care depending on certain criteria, its serviced, above dents pulled out, timing belt done, or not due for a while yet and a 6 month warranty. I will meet his price as I am getting a good deal for my car and it is lowest price around(or cost to change as they say!). I am happy with it.

Now the problem is this, I am keen to thrash out the finer details mentioned above, but I can't seem to get through to him, or he doesn't seem to think I am serious.
This is a main dealership, not a private or independent sales garage.
Would it be inappropriate to text him the conditions on which I will accept his price, or do I wait for him to ring me back?

After looking around there is very little good reasonably priced diesels out there, that are what I am looking for. If I wanted petrol there is millions of options. For these reasons I am eager to close this deal, as I have already lost a potential car by been to slow to act.

Best way to close a deal is to call into the guy

Right so. Thanks EPM. I will take a spin down that way after work.
Close the deal on this baby.
