    I'm 16 and I play football in laois and I am trying to get fit for the coming season and I need help. I've been doing a bit of running but I cant see any difference in my fitness

    You should just transfer to Parnells in Dublin. Seems to be what most Laois footballers are doing these days...they'll give you the top info!

    Other than that, doing long jogs won't drastically help you get fit, you need to do shorter sprints and make sure to work on your core, i.e. plank and sit ups etc.. and you'll notice differences after about 10 days.

    Fitness is such a broad term - what exactly do you want to improve on?
    Strength?
    Speed?
    Agility?
    Stamina?
    Reactions?

    Each aspect is trained differently and your only going to improve if you push yourself to your limits - sitting in the comfort zone is a waste of time
