i am currently on NTL/UPC basic cable and want to cancel and change to 1 of the freeview options.a few people have suggested taking out a sky subscription for a year and then cancelling and then basically i would have a freeview system, would i be as well going down this road or is there a cheaper/better freeview option that would get me just as many/more channels as what i'd get from sky after the cancellation?
i worked out that it would cost me just under 350 euro for the year to go with sky, that's for 12x22 euro a month plus installation and sky box charge.
of the channels i currently have on NTL/UPC the main ones i'm hoping to hold on to are bbc,utv/itv,ch4,e4.not arsed about the others though the missus would be delighted if we held on to living tv.
i was in maplins today looking at the systems in there, are they easy to install, how difficult is it to put the dish up and get it pointing in the right direction?
i'd really appreciate any advice you could give me on this....

You would get those channels(BBC,Itv,E4) on free, all you would need is sky kit probably get all you need for under €100. No need to subscribe to sky.

If you wat Living tv you would have to subscribe to sky cheapest package €22 a month.

Powercity, b and q, adverts.ie - you would need to get someone to install it or
you could subscribe to sky for a year, you would get all the equipment hd box at the minute for €300, save you getting someone to install it

Talking of the Powercity 'Sky' dish, whats the perfect skew? mine came preset at an angle of about 7 or 8 pm! > I have had it for several weeks now & it seems to work fine, but I still think the skew looks a bit extreme . . .

Ver tempted to turn it back a little, but I won't.
