I am a NQ Solicitor considering the ICSA exams......has anyone any input on how they would enhance my employment opportunities? I am also interested in doing the AITI exams. I completed Part 1 some years back but did not progress them due to finances at the time. I would really appreciate some advice by those working in the relevant field. Much appreciated. Also I am based in Galway, what opportunities are available in the West?

    Howdy,

First things first - what are ICSA exams? Also, does NQ mean non-qualified? If so how far away are you from qualifying. AITI may make sense in that tax is just another law, but is a career in its own right. It's struggling at the moment, bit like law, but hopefully will turn around and if you are qualified you could make your mark. I'm also of the view that there's always room for another "Insert Profession Here", regardless of the economy.

    Good luck
