    Hi

I've noticed that the light for the open door sensor has stopped working. I have tested all the sensors using the light that turns on when a door is open so I know its not a sensor problem. How do I access this area to change the LED/bulb... It's not a big thing but its a handy safty feature.. Also where would I buy a replacement LED/bulb? The rest of the lights on dash are working as normal.

Should mention its a Toyota Avensis older model 2002.

    Cheers,

If the dash on an Avensis is fitted anything like most other Toyotas, look for the screws that are located under the top rim of the clock cluster. There are probably four or five to remove. Either feel for the holes or look up from under the steering wheel.
In case the screw holes are not immediately visible, check for covers that might cover screw holes, and remove them to access the screws.
If none of the above is the case, the cluster could be a push/spring fit, which would just require some gentle prising to ease it out.
Once the screws are removed, just tilt the cluster forward. You should be able to reach in and disconnect the wiring blocks. Once they are all free just lift the cluster out.
If you have a mechanical drive for the speedo itself, it should be a 'twist-n-lock' fitting, and it could be a bit stiff to shift.
As far as I can remember, Toyota uses tiny little bulbs that are fitted to thier own little holders, usually brown or black in colour. Sometimes they have a coloured sheath on the bulb itself.
I think that Toyota would be able to supply the correct bulb for you. Tell them where it's for and they can check on thier micro-fiche.
They should also be able to explain how to remove the cluster if you haven't figured it out by the time you're buying the bulb.

    Hope this helps.
