is it to do the following?

Currently ave Sky+ and two multiroom standard boxes so four cables going toLNB which I assume is Quad.

Now if I take the plung and get a HD box - I will need this instead of my Sky+ whch will then replace a standard and I'll still have two standard boxes one without sub. Will this then require six cabes going into the LNB (and therefore an OCt LNB?) ad will the SKy chap do this as part of the HD installation or am i entering a world of pain and dissappointment.

Don't think Sky allow you to have 2 PVR's (Sky+HD and Sky+) in the same house under contract.
Not 100% sure, but give Sky a ring just to confirm.

The engineer should do it no problem. He may charge you for the octo, anything from €40 to €80 depending on what make is used. If you want to get one yourself it would work out cheaper. Have a look here - http://www.satellite.ie/acatalog/Octo__Eight_output_LNB_for_sky_mini_dish.html
That price includes VAT. If I were you I'd have it before he calls.

As for multiple HD and Sky+, Sky put no limit what so ever on how many of these you have on one contract. Multiroom fees do apply.

    Guess I was wrong :D
Still it must be costing you small fortune (Sky+HD/2 multiroom subs). 115 Euro a month?

    thanks all

Yes i i costing me approx 115 - had a discount for six months which has run out but I will be dropping movies/sports and espn for the summer so that will eas the pain - I will probably only get HD in if they drop the monthly subscription.

You can now get the HD box without a HD sub. The main advantage would be more space for recordings and if you're anything like our house, you could not have enough space. " It changed the way we watched TV forever" :P

Didn't realise that wizard - how much are we talking?

To add a box would be classed as Upgrade to HD Multiroom without HD Sub - €49 + €30 install. 1 x Multiroom sub extra €15 per month

To swap out a box to HD without HD Sub would be - €99 & €60 install. Nothing extra per month.

With the HD Sub would be -

Upgrade to HD Multiroom with HD Sub - Box free + €30 install. 1 x Multiroom sub extra €15 per month & 1 x HD sub extra per month €15

Swapout from Standard to HD with HD Sub - Box free & €60 install. 1 x HD sub extra per month €15

    There you go :)

    @ OP
Down on top of the price of installation and/without octo lnb you should expect extra installation fees for the two extra cable pulls,ie the upgrading of the standard Digibox to your Sky+ and the relocation of that standard Digibox for use without sub
Your installer will also supply the octo LNB should you need.

Sorry Zoltan, I missed the part re the box without a sub. That would be extra alright.
