freesat install

    Can anyone recommend a good freesat installer in the Drogheda area? I've been quoted €200+ to replace a quad lnb with an octo and install a freesat box - seems v expensive to me??

    Did that include the freesat box?

    No! I'm supplying that myself - I think that quote is extortion on that basis!!

    An octo lnb for a sky dish is about 35 - 40 euro. Cable costs between 50 cent to a euro a metre depending on the quality of the cable. So say you need a long cable run of about 25 metres and an octo lnb. That should cost no more than 65 euro. The installer would say that he has overheads like insurance etc that are included in the rest of the price he quoted.

    Would you not do the job yourself if he dish is in an accessible location, i.e. Not attached to the chimney. I was a complete noob when I put my own dish up but once you get into it, it's not that difficult. Plenty of advice available here on boards!
