Lower Calf issue

    First of all i would like excuse my English!!! :-)


    i have been running nearly two years but last few months which injury, xmas, food, Snow, and heavy raining in end of November...etc

    but back running in last months, it's fine and good..but one problem always bugged me is both lower calf is tight every time i run after ten mins..even i can carry on run until 20 mins it will gone or 30 mins so far i can run up to 6 miles,

    any suggest to less pain or tight on lower calf...i was thinking of get SKIN

    I'm sure i will get answer that i should be warm up.. that what i have done many time and have 5 runner at the moment..i am using Mizuno.. which only 4 months old and wear only 20 times

    or any idea or suggest ?!?!?!

    You could try warming up, i.e. Run 2-3 miles (15-20 mins) at recovery pace. Stop and perform your stretching, and then carry on with your normal/target pace. I know you mentioned that you've tried this many times, but I don't think that there is any magic elixir, like skins. My physio gave me some exercises to perform to strengthen the calf, which will obviously help to avoid the problem altogether. You can find some by doing a quick google search.

    I think that many of us who are relatively new to running (around 2 years) who try to progress quickly, will commonly experience problems with calf muscles, shins, IT band, etc. We don't have the years of strengthening that people who have been running since childhood might have. The price of being part of the running boom!
