this is on again tomorrow night, it was well attended last week and as usuual, it was great fun
I wont be playing it this time, but i will be there to make sure fun is had and to keep the thing running smoothly
it must be a soft game coz last week i managed to get 6 scalps, making it a free night for me

see you there, early bird chips for early attendees

2000 bonus chips for early bird

late attendees = standard starting stack 8000 + scalp chip
    scalp chips value = €10

    a query raised last evening;
when is it considered that you are too late to be in a particular hand, i.e. when are you not in a hand

once the dealer deals to the 1st player and you are not within arms reach of your seat, then you are not in the hand
once you are either in your seat, standing beside your seat or can actually reach out and touch your seat, then you are considered in play

this should (hopefully) stop players running down the casino, saying hold on, i am coming, please dont take in my cards

i can see this rule being applied in other card clubs and it works

i was playing a tournament recently myself and stood up to get my phone out of my pocket while the dealer was dealing the 2 cards
the dealer took in my cards and asked me not to fold out of turn like that again
apparently the rule they were using was that you must actually be sitting in your chair
a bit harsh i hear you say, but then again, it was entirely my fault for not checking the rules on the day
personally i just thought that the particular dealer (who doesnt like me) was being pedantic and picked on me and taught me a lesson, it worked, coz nobody else did it again
another guy whose phone rang, got up from the table and walked away only to be told upon his return that he was out for a round of the table for folding out of turn despite the whole table being warned when i did it

an air of reasonableness would have been nice

Hope to see you there tonite, should be well attended, this one usually is

ACTUALLY I WASNT EVEN ON THE PHONE, I HADNT EVEN TAKEN OUT THE PHONE, THE POINT IS THAT HE SAW THAT I HAD STOOD UP, DECIDED THAT I WASNT IN MY SEAT WHEN HE DEALT THE 1ST CARD AND SO ALSO DECIDED THAT I WAS FOLDING OUT OF TURN

to answer your 2nd point, well nobody, but then look what i've become, its my own fault
