Satellites

    Hi All
Walked out this evening and saw two unusual lights in the sky over Galway city.
They were about two moon diameters apart and travelling about 060 an ENE direction
or about 90 degrees less than the usual flight path of the ISS/Shuttle.
The two were of equal brightness and travelling together at similar speed to the shuttle chasing the ISS.
The ISS/Shuttle are not visible at the moment from here AFAIK.
They faded out at a fairly high angle just like a satellite would later in the evening.
Very probably these were satellites but I find it unusual for two to be travelling together, same speed, same brightness, same direction.
They were as bright as the ISS and very obvious in the sky.
Checked J-track but could not come up with anything. Time was 19:20.
    Any collisions reported? Any ideas?

Seen something very similar to this over NE Louth at about 6.35 this evening.. Strange alright.

I saw the same around 19:15ish from Clare. I'm not very good at positioning things astronomically but they were directly underneath the bottom of the plough and parallel with the two stars at the bottom of it. I didn't watch them for long enough to see how fast they were moving. They were very bright for a star but not bright enough for an aeroplane.

    Hi fred, chamac.

I'll have a look at that time tomorrow and get back to you.

    Edit:

    Also, install this program. http://www.stoff.pl/

    It's a fantastic software suite.
