Get yourself a pair of Meindl Pro Army I did a while back after some advice from some of the lads. They are probably one of the most comfortable boots iv ever worn. Its like wearing your favourite pair of runners. Iv since bought another pair of Meindil for hill walking and to be honest iv been wearing them everywere from work to the pub.

Check out the local TK MAX for boots. They have Meindl from time to time and other makes. I have a pair of Brasher boots that I find comfortable to wear and got for half the street price from TK MAX €75

Danner are good and very comfortable, but the sole unit tends to let in water in my pair.
I really like them but would be wary of the soles durability.
Meindl are for medium to narrow feet in my experience, I couldn't find a pair that was comfortable.
    Any suggestions for wide feet?

My feet are wide and the Brasher fit me very well even with a pair of thick socks on.

I had a pair of Gri Sport - Storm, they fit just above the ankle but id say there would be a similar model to what your looking for. Had my pair for five years and they took all manners of abuse and kept my feet dry. Just bought exact same pair again recently. Might be worth a look.

dwight, i have a pair of them addidas boots. got them in kosovo during the summer for 160. nice light boot.......runners basically. got them for the hot weather but wouldnt bring them out on the ground. there isnt much ancle support. had a pair of the mendil army pro before and have to say they were the best boot ive ever had by a long shot. im actually going to get another pair in a few weeks time. save yourself the hardship, and the money in the long run and go for the mendil;)

    CJhaughey and OP

I wear 12-13, 46- 47 EE+ depending on the maker, as you know not always easy to find. :D
Irish Setter make boots in big & wide sizes (EE) I have two pair of Trail blazers and a pair of Elk Trackers, good boots. I like them as they can be resoled and they run true to size.
I have Glockners also that Cabelas carried maybe 10 -12 years ago called them by another name but they are Glockners, 13W on the tongue, wear like iron and on their third resole. Stout boots.
