Got this email and dont know if its true or not ...

This is a very good article. Not only about the warm water after your meal, but about
Heart Attacks. The Chinese and Japanese drink hot tea with their meals, not cold water, maybe it is time we adopt their drinking habit while eating.

For those who like to drink cold water, this article is applicable to you. It is nice to have a cup of cold drink after a meal. However, the cold water will solidify the oily stuff that you have just consumed. It will slow down the digestion. Once this 'sludge' reacts with the acid, it will break down and be absorbed by the intestine faster than the solid food. It will line the intestine. Very soon, this will turn into fats and lead to cancer. It is best to drink hot soup or warm water after a meal.

    Common Symptoms Of Heart Attack...
A serious note about heart attacks - You should know that not every heart attack symptom is going to be the left arm hurting . Be aware of intense pain in the jaw line.

You may never have the first chest pain during the course of a heart attack. Nausea andintense sweating are also common
symptoms. 60% of people who have a heart attack while they are asleep do not wake up.. Pain in the jaw can wake you from a sound sleep. Let's be careful and be aware. The more we know, the better chance we could survive.

I'm afraid this is all made up OP, if only it were that simple then heart attacks wouldn't be the number one killer in this country.

Lol at the idea of cold water 'solidifying' fat in the arteries though, if your veins are cold enough to solidify fat then your already dead unfortunately.

I just wanted to find out if there was a grain of truth in it.

A cardiologist says if everyone who reads this message sends it to 10 people, you can be sure that we'll save at least one life. Read this & Send to a friend. It could save a life... So, please be a true friend and send this article to all your friends you care about.

Not saying email is correct I don't have the knowledge too.

But it doesn't say anthing about fat solidfying in arteries. It solidifies in stomach then reacts with the acid and breaks down and is then absorbed by intestine quicker and builds up there. As opposed to if was still liquid would be mixed better with food and wouldn't happen.

This is what I understood from the email, how true it is I have no idea.
Although I have heard before you are better to drink water luke warm rather than cold, not sure where or why.

Maybe if you didn't have an actual digestive system that broke down the food you ate, before smearing it all over the inside of your arteries.....

According to that logic, is cold fat (like extra virgin olive oil) more likely to lead to heart disease and cancer than hot fat (like in chips)?

There are lots of these circulating about, I know of another one that advises you to cough and breathe deeply when you think you're having a heart attack, which will actually make a very dangerous situation much worse.

I know real life cardiologists and the last thing they would do would dispense advice over the internet via email.

Regarding whether it's better to drink luke-warm water, I think that comes from ayur-vedic (sp?) principles, they believe that cold water 'shocks' the system whatever that means. I haven't seen any evidence for this, the only thing relevant I could find is that ice-cold water does actually increase the metabolism for a small amount of time.

    This explains it all:

I think you should have been highlighting the bit where it becomes a chain letter! A simple check on these things is to use "quotes" in google, this means it searches for the exact phrase.

Try and pick a section which is unusual enough and with no commas etc.

    e.g.

"it will break down and be absorbed by the intestine faster than the solid food"

You can see it gets hits on urban legend type sites similar to snopes above, and snopes itself.

This is funny, I like the way it just says ' a cardiologist says' as if that gives it some level of credibilty. I'd say we might have a noble prize lying around somewhere we can give that doctor! :p
