I was driving along yesterday off River road up towards the Finglas direction when the car in front of me swerved to the right. Basically there were about 5 or 6 nice sized bricks on the middle of the road. Saw them too late and split my tyre and buckled an alloy.

To be honest it could have been worse one passed under the car and there was a loud enough wallop but doesn't appear to have done any further damage.

It turns out there was a bag of crap with some smaller mortar and dust further down the road. Some gob****e with a skip decided to not tie it up correctly and lost the crap as he was driving along.

Guards happened to be passing a few minutes later and stopped and made a note of it and took details but unless they caught the guys in the act or had witnesses it seems there's nothing they can do.

I'm out of pocket because someone was too lazy to do their job right.

I could have been further back from the car in front, I've no problem admitting that. There was probably a 4 or 5 metre gap. I don't think the driver in front realised what was on the road until it was almost too late. It was too late for me.

As for the high horse I'm not sure where you're getting that, if you're transporting something along the road the least a person can do is ensure that everything is safe to do so.

Any traffic cameras in that area?

just pre-empting the usual response on here. :pac:

Seriously though, that a pretty crap one. But unless there was a CCTV camera around the area I'd say you're outa luck.
