there's been a whole thread about this, and it's been discussed that in theory Screenclick can claim they got back the dvds late and charge you for a months membership, referred to as one member as "a licence to print money"

And refered to by this member as 'bullsh**t'.

In practice, these companies are more than happy to help if something is late or delayed. Getting a month's payment is hardly a very successful 'licence to print money' for any company.

Seriously. There's always someone that wants to pick pointless holes in even the best of offers. All it achieves is people who are easily swayed missing out on something they'd enjoy.

Tucker.Tim, I did take a free trial from screenclick, and they made it more difficult than it should have been for me to cancel and I was charged the first month, despite being told that I had cancelled. After some back and forth it was refunded though, but just something to keep in mind.

got dvds from screenclick for several months, eventually canceled the subscription (no fault from them, just didn't want dvds anymore)
Now getting spam from them contantly, i have enough.
    un-subscribed many times etc....
Anybody in the same situation ?

I got the spam for ages, took a few attempts to unsubscribe, but does seem to have finally worked. If that doesn't work, mark it as spam in your e-mail client/account. Also, let them know you've done this, if you are using gmail, or any of the other big name cloud accounts, if you mark it as spam there is more chance that it will not make it through to other people's accounts, though I'm not sure many businesses are aware of this.

Aside: Most 'unsubscribe' links in e-mails are there to check what e-mail addresses are genuine. As a general rule I go straight for the 'mark as spam' route if I did not explicitly subscribe.

If you use gmail you can use the official + extender for your e-mail address too, I use to make it easier to filter out spam. If your e-mail address is john@example.com, you can make it john+screenclick@example.com, this will still get to your account, and you can see if a company sold on your e-mail. Although many sites don't accept the +, despite it being part of the official e-mail standard.
