Do you advertise your home phone number?

For different reasons, I would prefer not to advertise my home landline and simply have a dedicated landline for business-related advertising,

I know there's the virual office route with dedicated tel number, office address and mail-forwarding etc depending on what you pay for. But, just looking to see what the general ideas on this are and what methods people are using if they're not advertising their home landline number.

Well you need a number for running a business, if you dont want to use your personal home number, get another phone number and forward it to a mobile / house line etc.

Get a Skype or Blueface number, forward it to your landline. Also has the beneift you can forward it to your mobile if you're out.

Blueface is a fair bit dearer, but anecdotally seems to have better call quality.
Also includes a fax-email service, which might prove useful.

Yep, I second blueface. I have a number with them (an 01 number) and it works very well for me. I pay around €40 a month and have unlimited landline and UK landline calls.

Because a Mobile phone number will make you look like an amateur/chancer. Where as a landline makes it look like you have an office/permanent place of business.

On a lot of websites lately I have found that if you want to contact the business you have to email them, they dont have a phone number..

Aye, I try not to deal with any business that doesn't list their address and contact phone number. Web contact forms are handy but its good to be able to pick up the phone and talk to someone.
