I bought a 3 year warranty for my acer laptop. It even covers accidental damage but the problem I have with it now is after two years the battery only holds a charge for about 3 minutes. Has anyone gotten the battery replaced under an extended warranty or is it classed as a sort of normal wear and tear?

Batteries generally aren't covered under warranties, as they only have a certain amount of charge/discharge cycles before they die. Two years would seem like an average life for a battery, on my Dell 6400, the battery was dead within a year.

Yep, batteries are classed as 'consumables' covered for a year usually. Dell offer extended battery cover but it is an extra.
